Take a trip down memory lane, and see what memories heisters such as yourself have made during these last 10 years with PAYDAY 2.

I remember the release of "The Bomb Heists" - DLC pack. On release, me and my buddy had multiple attempts stealthing "Bomb - Dockyard" on the highest difficulty (was Death Wish back then) until we finally finished it without leaving a trace. What an exciting moment.

I started heisting around the time we met the Dentist. Some friends of friends had been playing and it looked like a blast; I couldn't have imagined what it would become! Now my crew are my family, and PAYDAY will always be part of what we made together.

I've been an avid payday fan ever since the first game came out for steam, i had so many memories shared from this franchise that I can't quite express with words, when payday 2 first launched that's how i met my long time friend Dieter, we've been through thick and thin but somehow we always come back to play one more heist, back in 2017 i lost a very important family member and the payday community took me with dear hearts and helped me through my grief, now that the game reached 10 years of age i look back at all of the things we've done together and how important it was, video games are not just forms of entertainment but they also help people who are going through really bad times, thats why i want to thank everyone from the dev team all the way to the people who play this game, you guys are awesome and deserving of love! Anyways, I'll see you all at Shade's safehouse šŸ«‚

Iā€™ve been a longtime fan since the original in 2011. Back then I could only play games with a very underpowered 2010 MacBook. I played a fan-made port to Mac and put countless hours into it. A few years later PAYDAY 2 came out and I actually had a PC this time, so I picked that up for real too.

Been playing it ever since, and I even met my partner and best friends playing it. Weā€™re absolutely stoked and canā€™t wait for PAYDAY 3!

I remember, I randomly had this strange urge to try Payday 2 on my PlayStation 3 one day, which I just happened to have from a PS plus deal a while ago, and I instantly fell in love with the game. I would go on to buy the Crimewave edition sometime later and I would sink countless hours into this game. I would always anticipate new updates on consoles and when they came I would boot up the game and absolutely devour any new content they added, crime spree being one of the fondest as at the time it was one of the funnest ways to grind with its interesting difficulty progression and unique modifiers. Years later I would get my new PC and would buy Payday 2 once again, where I am now still happily heisting, hoping to achieve Infamy 100 before Payday 3's release. Shoutout to Red Archer Live as well for keeping the console hype for all those years. Here's to a better future with Payday 3.
LegionZ
payday 2 has been with me since 2021, i have beaten stealth in this stealth game, thanks for these 2 years waiting for payday 3
daunonok228
I first started Payday 2 just around 20 days before the Breaking News event. I didn't even play with other people and leave normal difficulty until some guy helped me through harder heists. if you're out there, thank you.

My first time getting intereted in payday franchise was back in 2017 when I saw my cousin play car shop and after a while I finally got a better laptop and started playing payday 2 myself in mid 2019. Now I have almost 2.5k hours and look foward to playing payday 3.

My first memory of PAYDAY 2 was being gifted it and playing one of the branch bank heists for the first time back in 2017 with my friends. I've loved it ever since and can't wait to see what the future holds for this lovely franchise.

Man, It's super fun sending Almir himself to custody with a rocket launcher. You won't find that kind of interaction with a developer in another game.
ManVSLife
Obviously I'm not the earliest heister in this game.
I joined the game in 2018,and I still remember the astonishing secret lore things--
A heisting game with bunch of mythology and occultism mixed into its lore? Hell yeah!
So ye,that's why I'm still playing this game, digging lore details etc.
Thank you again, for bringing such a wild and spectacular payday universe to everyone!

If you're reading this then you propably know who I am and I don't need to introduce myself, but I've put over a decade of my life into this game and eventually led to creating a ton of content that many of you have enjoyed, that includes the Developers of this game including the Management. I am happy to be around with such fantastic people that I've met over that time, PAYDAY has been a huge part of my life, with over 87 658.1277 hours of my life put into it that some of it got lost in the process, but it was mostly just good memories...

I remember playing back on the 360 in 2013, playing Framing Frame with friends, stopping a Guard from calling in the radio by jumping at him and getting arrested. not what i intended but it delayed the call long enough for a friend to deal with it.
Kirito1262
This was back when I first joined the Payday 2 discord in 2020 i was looking for people to play with and I found some we eventually tried no mercy on death sentence knowing we would fail we didnt even make it past the first objective but we got some good laughs thanks to the rocket launcher I hid in my back pocket

When I was young, when I was a noob in 2015, I played PAYDAY2 on a laptop run with its battery. The laptop was on low energy mode so fps was almost under 20, everything was lagging. But it still a very great time in my life. Then I started learning from community players, learning their stealth walkthrough, learning their bulids, even learning speedrun. Later in 2018, at the end of the game' storyline, I became a fandom translater for about half a year. Now, 8 years passed and I still love this f-word-ing game!

During late 2017 I was not in the best mood due to personal reasons and was playing PAYDAY 2 to keep my mind off those problems. I joined a public lobby filled with 3 other nice people who were able to tell that I wasn't doing well and were very supportive to me, eventually I was able to vent to them about my problems (one of which involved my sexuality, at the time I was still questioning myself) and one of the players I was playing with was also bisexual and gave me reassurance that what I was feeling was okay and encouraged me to explore myself. Not longer after I came out as bisexual and I partly owe it a lot to that player whom I sadly don't remember and wish I was in contact with.

I want to thank you guys at Starbreeze for making a game that had this much of an impact on me and I'm highly looking foward to PAYDAY 3.

When me & my friend Demeschik finally finished Framing Frame in stealth back in 2013 without any guides (since those didn't really exist anyway). Simple nowadays but very satisfying back then.

Payday 2 is the first game I played on my PC back in 2018. Since then I have had so many fond memories with me and my friends trying to rob a hospital with flamethrowers, to us trying to draw that cool S in preplanning.
PimGamefreak
I've been here since 2011, watched the Overdrill get discovered in real time, always logging onto the old Steam Forums every day after coming home to check if there were any new breakthroughs.

All the months of hype in 2013 just before PAYDAY 2 came out were insane back then. Me and my buddies could not stop talking about the game. I still remember my first heist in the pre-order beta - Four Stores on Hard with Full Force Forward blasting through my headphones, synergizing into an orchestra comprised of echoing gunfire and EDM.

It's been a long ten years and PAYDAY 2 has been a major part of them. Hopefully PAYDAY 3 will allow me to feel just as nostalgic in 2033 as I am feeling about PAYDAY 2 and The Heist in 2023. All things considered, this was a good ride.
Kuziz
Reset my save file to play with my partner who just got the game around the time we first started dating. We beat the entire story line and even got to the Secret together. Playing this game was a true bonding experience.
Dosh
The community on the game, steam and discord has been a large part of my life and it's been a wild ride with ups and downs. I honestly have no idea where I'd be without it. You guys totally changed my entire life, thanks for being cool!

Joined the gang back on PS3 with the Payday the Heist demo. Later bought the full game on PC (and found out that First World Bank didn't actually end after grabbing money in the vault???). I was later told that they were making a sequel, got given a beta invite by a friend, which led to me preordering the game an hour before it launched. It has since remained installed on each of my machines for the next 10 years, and still is installed to this very day. ā™„

I first played Payday 2 around the time it came out on the xbox360 back in good ol' 2013, I liked it but I pretty much forgot about it until 2016 when my brother bought me the game on steam, and ever since then, I've been hooked. And while I have had my ups and downs (holy shit never do that alien mayan bullshit again...) with this game and the community, I'll always remember that its thanks to Payday that I've met a lot of my online friends.
Crazder
I was first introduced to this game in 2021, a friend of mine suggested it to me and whilst I normally donā€™t like the games he requests, I decided to give this game a try. Now I have over a thousand hours and have completed every single achievement. Iā€™ve met a lot of friends playing this game and Iā€™m extremely glad I decided to listen my friendā€™s recommendation. Funnily enough he ended up getting bored of the game and now I have more hours and achievements in the game than he does. Thanks for all the memories and I hope Payday 3 can be just as good, if not better.
sssawfish
I think my favourite memories of Payday 2 has to be all the times where I've played with my girlfriend. Just seeing her slowly get better as we play has been such an amazing expirience. Though getting a follow from both Payday twitter man and Almir on twitter is also cool
NikolajHSP
Shared a lot of time having fun with my school friend in this game since 2015. That was cool! Too much memories to share here, but all of them are amazing! Like car heist in dinosaur masks, april fools mods and more

I remember when my friend gave me a beta key for Payday 2. Bought it on release and it has been a big part of my gamer life ever since šŸ™‚ ty for the good times and I am very excited for the Payday 3 collectors edition

Payday 2 was a big game with me and my friends since launch. Never will be able to forget set pieces like Big Bank and The White House!

I cant imagine my life without Payday, the friends i made, the hours i spent playing with my dad and friends, i cant forget the time me and my dad were having a mental breakdown over Lab Rats

I remember how cocky my partner was when it came to fighting the Bulldozers. They would get excited about every opportunity to get one of them... until the first day of Hoxton's Heartswarming, that is.
Not being able to stun Dozer, coupled with their ability to run, made my partner panic everytime they spot that hulking mass rushing their way! Complete switch from predator mentality to prey mentality was jarring to watch at the time!)
P.S. They are much more confident nowadays.
Vantusman
I grew up with payday 2, reaching 1000 hours on console. 2 years ago I changed over to PC, payday was the first thing I downloaded! Within the 1100 hours I have on steam today, I reached the ultimate achievement of the DSOD mask. Little me would've been so proud. :')
georgeiscringe
I remember preordering the Career Criminal Edition and being excited for the game after PDTH, talking about it with my buddies at school. Doing it all over again but this time at a comfortable office job.
2014 was probably the best year for the game and the community. I hope we get more 2014s in the future.

man, payday was the first game in my steam library that wasnĀ“t free to play, i spent hours and hours playing it and nevet got bored, i have met incredible people and friends, gotta be my favorite game right now, 10 years... thanks for being with me for the mayority part of my life! and as Bain said one "Lets do this" !!!!
Marcos/Mlgmarck
favorite memory was actually a very recent one, me and the team worked hard to get 'beneath the mountain' done (at least opening the 4 vaults) in under ten minutes. whole call was shouting when we clutched it with <10 seconds remaining

Truly one of the few games I always come back too, whether to heist for hours or just to remember the good old times, back in 2015 me and my buddy used to go on a trip to branson every year. Wed bring our laptops and use the really crappy wifi to do stealth missions together racking up the paydays! Thank you guys for making such an amazing game, and cant wait to see what you all cooked up for us with payday 3!
Brody
Me and my friends got payday to all play together and I can't even say how awesome it was doing Heists together and me and my friends we are very imaginative so when we got a bit to into it we started to do a full roleplay it was a BLAST and the fun things we encountered while playing. Thank you payday for letting us have this AWSOME experiencem

My brother was going through some tough times and the only way I could really spend time with him was when he got home and played on his Xbox 360. One day he booted up Payday the Heist and I was hooked! We took turns per heist, hours were lost, love this game but more importantly I got to spend lots of time heisting with my bro, which we still do years later with Payday 2 and soon Payday 3. Thanks Almir and all the developers for so many fun memories.

Payday was always on my radar but never gave it a try until 2016. 1000 Hours since then and i would say its one of my favorite games of all time. Happy 10th Anniversary Payday 2. Let's make it atleast another 10 when Payday 3 comes out!
Baambusbjoern
On my first attempt on overdrill with some friends we got right to the vault, but got the puzzle incorrect and had to try again all from the start. It left us speechless lol
B0op
I remember back in January of this year, me and my 3 friends were really invested in beating the heist "Breaking Feds". It is renowned for being difficult, and it took us around 66 attempts to beat the heist on MAYHEM difficulty (considering I was new to the game, and my friends had played the game in the past meaning they were a higher level than me). My stealth build back then was horrendous, but after 66 tries we did it. We had some really good laughs that evening. It took us around 2 days to beat the heist, considering the night before we had given up on the 20th or so attempt. It was late when we beat it, but when we beat it felt like the whole world had changed, and we had finally beat the Breaking Feds. To this day, it is still a running joke about how many times we attempted the heist... and the iconic line "Can't believe were coming back to this place.".
Weborpientum
Payday 2 was one of my first pc games, and it was (and it is) absolutely wonderful. I still remember all those helmets flying, and the epic heists with our beloved gang. Probably one of the best gaming experience you can have. I'm ready for Payday 3 and don't forget ; Let's do this.
Jean_Moulinex
my greatest memory for sure has to be the secret and everything revolving around it, solving the achievements made me grow close to a few friends, unlocking the trophies to start the secret made me improve (and started my obsession with trohpies). and the final vault at the white house has to be one of the most rewarding things you could ever do in payday besides maybe overdrill.
major props to overkill on this one

I remember starting this journey in 2015, the first heist I remember playing was Hoxton breakout, still one of my favorite heists, I remember grinding that heist until I got to max level, fun times.
Nolan
I remember first playing the Payday 2 demo on the Xbox 360. I distinctly remember the only heist being bank heist and loving the Commando 553 / Gruber Kurtz weapons. I also remember a glitch in the map where you went under the scaffolding on the roof of the bank and it would clip you into the vault every time. Fun times, it was a memory that stuck with me on my journey from 360, to xbone, to PC and across a steam account loss. I will always mark payday as my favorite game. Timeless, as always.
CrabWater
Whilst I haven't been playing for a very long time, I'll always remember properly prepping a squad, hopping into VR myself and absolutely destroying the First World Bank, working together to survive through OVERDRILL for a solid hour and a half!
I stood at the entrance to the vault-area with a long-barrelled Vulcan Minigun, shredding anything that was in my line of sight whilst the team grabbed, bagged and threw the gold down the vents. Time flew by, and we loved every minute of it.

Though it isn't the coolest experience in the world, it was one of the many in PAYDAY 2 that brought me and my friends closer, and even more so as the future calls us to 3.

For the past, and To the future! šŸ„‚

Crazy to think I started playing this game back in 2014 at age 14 and am now still playing it in 2023 at age 23.

I've met many people throughout that time that I still play with to this day.

Really shows how timeless this game and franchise is.
Daneii
Started playing on PS3, moving to PS4 and also playing it most of the time on PC!

PayDay 2 had me locked into a whole new era of FPS, a game that featured many different amazing aspects. I remember always messing up Shadow Raid when I was younger, nowadays it's one of my favorite Heists, alongside The Diamond and Meltdown!

When I finally outran a clocker, I jumped did a quick 180 and used my Judge to put him in his place. I felt I could do anything.
Kyugato
So many memories over 9 years and 5k hours - between finding ways to tackle every challenge, the various community projects and forming long-lasting friendships.
What I remember the most is the excitement of there always being something to look forward to. Each month or so bringing the next score, some unexpected story development, new toys or obstacles.
I hope Payday 3 can reignite this spark.
Mint
Can't remember exactly just when I started playing, had the game on my library for a while but I couldn't ever give it a proper chance, the only thing I know is that the game quickly became my most played game ever. I've put over 700 hours into this game, which isn't a lot on the grand scheme of things yet I am still proud of, and of all those hours my favorite moments were playing with a friend from his start to helping him beat the secret ending, that friend who I got the game for a while back and who is now my boyfriend. Thanks to this amazing game I got to spend hours upon hours with him, and thanks to this game my liking for FPS games started, so suffice to say this game became an integral part of my life and I wouldn't want it any other way.
Lviathn
I have around 1200 hours in the game, started back in 2015 I think.
One of my favorite games of all time.
Bush
It's crazy to think that it's already been ten years. I remember getting into the game around the time we broke Hoxton out. It's even crazier to think that I was among the first 100 to complete the Payday 2 Secret with my friends KebabScout, Fily and Beat.
怎 Sulfius 怏
Decided to try the stealth system for the first time and do First World Bank. I got super unlucky over and over again and ended up failing over 50 times, but then I got the perfect run and finished in about 30 min. Now I can stealth pretty much any mission no problem. And I made sure that my stealth build always includes the comically large spoon.
SharkSlayer06
My favorite memory was doing OVERDRILL for the first time. There was a crash halfway through so I didn't get the achievement but once I rejoined moving all 70 bags of gold was a breeze.
zoopots
I was still pretty new to the game, playing the Street Escape at night (for what heist I can't remember) with a newly maxed out Sociopath deck, not even knowing about skills, trying to use as few bullets as possible. In between assault waves me and a crew of randos were moving the bags to the escape vehicle when a cloaker randomly spawned in a dark alleyway, lit by a single light post, crawling out of a sewer grate. I completely forgot I was on Mayhem and ran up to him, killed him with a couple blows from the MotherForker, with Jacket saying "I really enjoyed that" as I left the alleyway and went on my way. It was the perfect movie moment, and it'll always stick in my mind as one of my favorite kills I've ever gotten in Payday 2.
LB
I remember feeling sad when the PAYDAY 2 beta was coming to an end and I posted about it on the discussion forums and somebody gifted me the game out of nowhere. I didn't know who he was nor their name but I'm forever grateful for that user because I've been heisting since launch with around 7000 hours across a 10 year timespan, pretty much growing up with the game throughout the years from the end of 8th grade all the way to the end of college. I'm excited for what PAYDAY 3 will bring.

I came across Payday 2 in 2020 and I knew that it was the perfect heist simulator! I spent dozens of hours playing the game and ultimately had a great time!
BenTheGamer21
I remember my first ever attempts at loud heists, being carried by higher level players, barely scraping enough cash to buy a minigun. And now I've done the secret end and got a full collection of every weapon noob me ever wanted.
Mobius
I remember booting up the PSN store one day on my PS3 and seeing a gamed called Payday The Heist, and played the shit out of it, i never got payday 2 until 2015 on my Xbox One, ive been playing Payday 2 since on PC
Mike
I remember the Payday 2 demo on PS3, where you could go up to level 10 maximum, there was only one heist and you could play with other players. It was possible to see players on this demo for a little while after the game's release, and it was great to see this little community!
Volfoni
My best PD2 memory is way back in 2014 when I first played the free demo on steam.
In my very first heist I got so disoriented from the combat (this is on normal btw) I ended up spending 10+ minutes drilling into the security office thinking that it was the vault. And yes that meant I had the thermal drill on my back the whole time I didnā€™t realize it.
Dexcess
I still remember booting up my Xbox360 with my first copy of PAYDAY 2, Seeing the laundry safehouse, going jewelry store heist and thinking that this was the best game I've played in years. 2023 is here and not only EVERYTHING has been improved but I still think that PAYDAY 2 has been the most pleasant and entertaining experience I've had in all my videogame history.

Cheers heisters for this decade and the ones to come!

Started heisting in 2011, got PDTH the day It came out and played hours upon hours with fandoms and had great fun. Fell in love with all the characters but Hoxton was my favorite because we have a similar vocabulary. Fast forward to payday 2 and I taught my friends to heist and we took on all the scores as they all came out throughout the years we never slowed down. Payday is a huge part of my life, felt like Christmas when I heard we were breaking Hoxton out. I look forward to heisting with you all in Payday 3, and Iā€™m glad to have Wolfy back:)

If you had told me 9 years ago, that'd I'd be sinking nearly 2,000 hours into Payday 2, buying every heist packs, and playing in VR, I would've been like "Who are you?"

The first time i tried overdrill with my friends, we had did it, we made our way into the overdrill chamber, we only had to put the code and take all the gold, but my friend misclick and the gaz entered, we lost 30 minutes of gameplay, but we laughed a lot afterward !

Payday 2 is a videogame of all time. There are many things I can say about it. It's my favourite game ever. I had a lot of memories playing it. My core memory was when I booted up the game and played it with my friends.

I started playing PAYDAY2 during the pandemic in 2020. Since then, there is literally no year without PAYDAY in my life.
My favourite memory is probably when I played Shadow Raid for the first time with my friend Sosa95. It was very enjoyable.
PAYDAY2 is perhaps the most unique videogame of all time.

One of my favorite moments is rushing to get all the achievements when a new heist launched. Thank you overkill for the content over the years, and thank you for more on the way!

Was playing a solo DW run of no mercy. Got the patient on the last door opened, cracked vials, 750+ kills and 45+ minutes later, I got the achievement.

My brother got this game for us when it first came out ten years ago. I vividly remembered when he left me for dead to secure extra bags of gold. Looking back, I wouldā€™ve done the same thing.

The Alesso heist stealth in a pub game. We had failed multiple times until we gave in and exchanged discords. We're still some of the closest online brothers ive had.

I actually bought the game during the 2018/2019 Steam Winter sale, and fell in love with the series ever since, with my desire to fictionally heist more and more.

Too many to count; But the time I got the legendary weapon skin 'City of Gold' accepted to the game was pretty good- even better after there was a whole event named after it, casino yacht heist included.

This game gave me so many happy moments, but my favourite one was when i beated my first heist in deathwish,i felt so proud, the epic music, the shooting and the danger, also jacket voice Made it 100 times better

Played the game in 2016-2018 but didn't really get into until 2020-2021 with one of my friends who lived in a whole other country then me and we went for alot of the death sentence one down heists we even got the secret ending for the game with one random guy who was a lot of help to us
R3TR0_T4P3Z
I remember telling my parents that this was a cool game where you play as a "good guy Robin Hood" type of figure, because I was afraid they wouldn't let me play it otherwise.

A decade later, that little lie has resulted in life changing friendships and thousands of hours of fantastic memories in and out of the game. Thank you PAYDAY!
VALE_3K
I ever tell you 'bout the time I cooked meth with my buddy Keith? Yeah well we were in this forest shack and all shit and then the police came up and then Captain Winters was all like "You have pay'd your last day." And then we were like shieeet man!!! We gotta fight off the police assault !!!! and my buddy keith was all like-

Lockdown got us down real hard, but getting this game with some pals help us got through it. Also help me connect with many people around the world. Thanks for the fun game Payday!
GhostGio08
I started playing in 2014 and I played the game religiously until Crimefest 2015. I did come back eventually and despite everything that has happened, good and bad, Payday 2 holds a very special place in my heart - 2600 hours over 9 years, 1325 of 1328 achievements, and 8 years (on and off) working on a mod.

Payday 2 might have its problems and had a rocky road, but it's undoubtedly a very special game that I will never forget my time playing and I don't regret a second of it.
Ema Pex
This game consumed a lot of my time, and with mods, it consumed even more. Truly one of my personal favorite games of all time. Please keep this game alive even if it stops getting support ;-;

Long time payday fan, playing PD:TH in 2011 and playing payday 2 over the past 10 years has been a rollercoaster, the ups and downs but with my friends it's been a lot of fun... Can't wait to see what Payday 3 brings to the table!
BenjiAlmighty
So many great memories on this great game, doing all the heists on DSOD with my 3 friends was one of the best experiences ever. Exploring builds and doing fun challenges for hours at a time was amazing. Absolutely can't wait for PAYDAY 3!!!

have made some very long lasting frienships playing this game. Though im not as good as other players it has been a blast playing this game!

Payday 2 was one of the first games i ever played on PC. I still remember my first Heist i played during a free Weekend and grinding through the demo until i bought the full game.

DSODing Shadow Raid with my friend with all but like 3 loot bags. We worked for roughly an hour to get there and I'm proud we did.

I've played this game for 600 hours... and last week was my first time in 4 years of playing solo, that i have played with a full group of friends. I will cherish that memory of us all on bank heist: gold for the rest of my time.

I remember my friend talking about this game back in 2019, and how cool the stealth of the game was, and in summer of next year he got me the game on sale, and what a ride the game was! can't wait for PD3!

From PAYDAY: The Heist all the way to PAYDAY 3, what a ride we've had. There's been ups and downs, but here we are!

I saw my cousin played PAYDAY 2 back in 2014. When I saw him played it, I thought it was a cool game and figured I tried it. Bought it, loved it, met new friends and my crew along the way. Won a speedrun tournament 1st place, and I still play PAYDAY 2 to this day. 7,385.7 hours and still counting. Thank you PAYDAY 2.
Jamesbondie
I got the game in 2015 with the Game Of The Year edition, from this date, I have been heisting none stop to the point of being at 12 000 Hours registered on Steam. Proud of being in the Payday Crew <3
SCP-5666-Akira
I met this cool guy called "Roger" in the first month of playing Payday 2 on PC. We were just two randoms playing heat street. We started looking for the tortoise together and it became a whole thing! We've been good friends ever since that day, after six whole years...
LesserSphinx
I think i first heard about PAYDAY 2 in 2018, but i haven't heard about it so much.
But then, in 2020 i bought it on sale basically because almost my entire friends list had PAYDAY 2. Then, in 2021 i downloaded it because my friend recommended to play it with him. That was a blast, we did like 10 heists on Death Sentence and i really liked it.
And when 2022 hit the calendars, i became a true PAYDAY fan.
Even though i'm rather new here, thank you for everything, heisters and fellow developers at Starbreeze.

Keep those helmets flying!

I remember all the way back in 2013 I was on my school bus heading to school when in between songs, the two radio hosts began talking about their disgust for this little bank robbing game that was about to release called PAYDAY 2. To be honest, they sold me on the game. Ten years and a thousand hours of playtime later, all I gotta say is thanks for the recommendation Mr. and Mrs. radio hosts.
BIGG MANLEY
i was recording my girlfriend play payday2 for the first time and her first heist was on carshop and i had her go up the stairs on mayhem difficulty and she didnt know any better and thought it was all her fault she got caught, we still laugh about it to this day 3 years later
Dank
I remember playing the demo non stop for payday 2 on the ps3.
I finally ended up purchasing the game on PC during 2015 together with The Gage Ninja pack.
Then i did my first ever stealth heist to get that sweet ninja mask!
Temdrik
Got it on sale during the spring break event in 2015. Spent many long nights making friends with randoms on Shadow Raid. Loved every moment playing this game and loved participating in the secret during 2018.
Squarebo
My favourite memory has to be the time where me and my friend bought the completly overkill pack. We LOVE the game and hoped this would help bring some new great content to the game. I was so excited to get my mask and weapon skin

I remember when for april fools one year, this bouncy explosives got activated. I have a friend Who used to main Golden AK and RPG and Went crazy during days because of this until we told him. That moments with him and the rest of the Crew (we met in-game 8 years ago and still play) where Amazing. This and million more. I hope to get new memories with this people on the new one too. They are basically family to me now. I am 26 years old now (the youngest in the group) and they have been with me during all kinds of moments and even got some tears when I moved continents. Thanks for letting me have this awesome interactions with people I would definitelly not know now.

I blew up 20 civilians. Bain was NOT happy. :D

I have had problems in my adolescence and thanks to PAYDAY 2.... I found a place to be welcome and well received. Also PAYDAY 2 made me something known on the Internet and I really... I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!

my payday 2 memory is weird bc first time i played it was when my brother show me the payday 2 gameplay on youtube and when he show me it i already love it <3
darkonso
This isnā€™t much of a payday 2 memory but more of how I got introduced to the franchise. Around Christmas 2012, my mother went to our local GameStop and asked the cashier a good first person shooter game that would be a good Christmas gift and the employee recommended Payday: The Heist. That employee is the real one and he put me on to the best video game of all time and Iā€™m forever grateful to have been here for even longer than this anniversary! Payday 3 here we come with more memories to be had!
John AKA ā€œ@OkAbyssalā€
When Payday 2 released on PS3 i played hours and hours it, with my friends or people that was such a cool people while heisting such a perfect heists in that time (2013-2014)
CapiTopic
My favourite memories must either be making friends with fellow heisters and talking to them to this day, or failing DSOD right next to the escape van.

Thanks for making my favourite videogame series of all time, can't wait to see you all on the 18th.
Fumi
I remember when I played Payday 2 with some friends and we used to get many achievements and complete the different jobs in the game I wish I could go back in time and be with them again with the band
Apo
first time i played this game in 2015, every single lobby i joined, i met amazing players, they always balanced between explaining the game while still giving me a chance to explore it myself, been in love with the game ever since
ansomarom
The game I never knew i needed, and I truly did not deserve! <3

I remember the days where I canā€™t stealth on any maps, even when I was already watching tutorials. Still canā€™t to this day
palpalette
I was playing Breakin' Feds with my friend trying to do Stalker and, on our about 100th attempt that night, I put in 2015 hoping that would be the correct code. I was correct, and I have never been happier than when we finally completed the achievement on that run.
RileyPGI
My greatest memory is when I played Shadow Raid with ALTeRYX007! Although im fairly new to the game I still had a lot of fun and made countless memories that I will remember forever! Thank you PayDay, Thank you Starbreeze!
Sosa95
Wow... 10 whole YEARS of Payday 2. That... I would never have imagined that I would be able to see a game like this grow so big (I mean that in how big the community is and by how much storage this game takes like holy shit 85+ Gigabytes my god). Although I don't play this game that much nowadays my friend Clover plays it a lot! She bought it in early 2020 and loves it to bits! I will say that my earliest memory of this game was... ah, I forget the year but one of my old friends introduced me to this game all the way back on the Xbox 360 and wow I just... I don't know what to say without repeating myself but man... It's been a long journey.

This goes to Payday 3 and another successful decade! šŸ„‚

I started robbing Payday: The Heist on my old PC.
Some time later I bought Payday 2 and it was the most fun and unforgettable memory I have ever played cooperative games with friends. Years passed and I constantly returned to this game, bringing more and more friends, we quarreled, put up, made plans for life and robberies :)
This game holds a special place in my heart. Now I have upgraded my computer, pre-ordered Payday 3 and am looking forward to the release of this game. I am sure that the game will be able to leave more good memories.
I believe in you developers.<3
Ghost
Every single public stealth heist I took part on was a mix of annoyance and laughs. I will never forget it.
KMD
While I journeyed to complete all of the achievements and challenges, the best ones were when I needed a team of heisters who would be able to help me get some of them. Above all the story was my favorite, events with hidden puzzles or speculations.
DaGateKeeper
Me and a friend were playing Car Shop and it was looking doomed. I had managed to secure one of the cars, but my friend was lagging behind. With only five seconds left on the clock we thought we were done. But then he slammed the gas and slammed the car into the van and quickly got out and we escaped, granted one car less than expected but still, we escaped. Good times all around, haven't laughed quite so hard in a multiplayer game as I did then.
CaptainSmartass
I remember it like today. The year 2017, we had som sort of a picnic at school and suddenly I go on steam and see that payday 2 is for free. Elated, I started telling everyone to pick up the game. To this day I still remember being thrown right into Car Dealership on DSOD with zero experience. It was an amazing experience.
bartolono
Been a payday veteran since the launch of Payday 2, love every minute of it, and played it with many friends over the years, still one of my go to games to stream to this day, thank you for making great gaming memories for me Overkill. Also shout out to Dragan, gotta be the best heister to be added, UNLEASH THE DRAGAN
SNIPEorDIE360
I still remember the day when my good friend and I were able to clear Henry's Rock on Death Sentence One Down. Payday 2 has been a game that thoroughly scratched my achievement hunting itch and moments like that, getting the Tabula Rasa achievement or Reputation Beyond Reproach will stick with me even after Payday 2 as a game has not.
Commander Bones
I remember my first time doing Overdrill with an open lobby online. The feeling of having to survive the assault while everybody was in custody and completing the heist while only ever going down twice was a clutch and a rush I will never forget!

I remember when I was young I got PD:TH not knowing how many hours I will pump into this franchise. When PAYDAY 2 released, I was begging my dad to get the game for me. Now I am 20 years old, still playing the same game I begged my dad to get for me when I was 10.

PAYDAY 2 is also the reason why I am really interested into Game Development, and I am currently working on eventually becoming a Game Dev myself.

Thanks developers for making such an amazing game, and I am looking forward to all the great memories we will get playing PAYDAY 3.
PULUTUR
First started playing Payday in 2017 when they gave away 5 million copies for free. Loved it so much that i played this game with 13fps for 600 hours on my old pc now i have almost 900 hours. Looking back the friends i made just because of payday are one of the best friendships i ever had, for a game thats about shooting cops the community are the sweetest. Looking forward to pd3 hope we get to see its 10th year too
Xmol
I remember playing the game for the first time, playing a heist and being amazed at all the things I could do.
HW12Dev
I think my favourite memory of this game is actually fairly recent, My first attempt at crude awakening i thought id try DSOD stealth, Not only did i complete the run but got all additional loot and the correct sample first time. Such an epic heist to top 10 years of an amazing game and community.
TeatimeWithToby
I salute all the creators of PAYDAY 2 this game I've been playing it since 2015 to date 2023 I still enjoy playing it and I can't wait to discover the new PAYDAY 3 game šŸ¤˜
Carlo
Started Payday 2 in 2018, I will never forget when my friend didn't tell me about the parachutes in birth of sky, kinda odd thinking that was a half decade ago
Keli "Fanzy"
Spending summer days shielded from the heat by heisting with some buddies. Learning how to stealth Shadow Raid with one of those friends, and ending up dorming together and playing whenever we'd have down the between classes.
BurningSoul
Got the game from a friend back in 2019 and got a couple of hours on it since, about 2000.
Doggo
I remember when I first played the game like 8 years ago on Xbox 360 and it being amazing and I loved it but also being buggy and not having a lot to do right away and stealth being confusing and hard af. But over the years, they have done a lot of stuff, and i'm so happy that payday is my favorite game ever and starbreeze is the best developer company outthere, they love the community and always listen to em. LETS GET HEISTING HEISTERS
Porkyboy
Wow, didn't expect to this game that turned 10 year old. I remember that i shared this game to my three friends. They bought it. We used to play that game every day. Best crew :)
fleakyy
Payday 2 had just come out, console was still getting updates. Cloakers were just brought back from payday 1, and still weren't working right. A Cloaker misses their kick that was aimed at me, then seemingly not knowing what to do from there it just staring beating down nothing.
MetaForth
I remember picking up the game on release day for my Xbox 360. Then a long week of playing and convincing my friends to buy it too!
VikingCat32
me and my friends are trying to get all achievements back in 2017 it was crazy but we barely managed

10 Years of stealing our weekends playing all day.

This one was recent. Loud rats day 2, I fall off one of the bridges between the buildings and get downed in the air, putting me into my last down. One of my friends inspires me back up before I hit the ground, and the fall damage instantly puts me into custody. Everyone playing, including me, couldn't stop laughing. This game is so silly sometimes.
Knocker
My favorite memorty is when i finally completed every heist on DSOD... 2 weeks ago
Katkus
Iā€™ve only ever been a console player and I picked PAYDAY 2 up around early 2016, it has provided me with some great memories and friends alike and the level of difficulty in the game always keeps me coming back as well as the ginormous achievement list always giving something to grind for.
The Loyal Apple
I made friends in Payday 2 who live more than 13 000 km away, and this year I finally met them
MrWombat
I remember getting the game as a gift early around 2013-14 from a close friend hopping into the game with a laggy mouse doing a bank heist, so inexperienced so wide eyed just enjoying playing a new game with my friends. I always hopped on the game when they did, acting as the bag boy in stealth as I was bad at it. As I got better and the friend group started to not play anymore, it was just me as Wolf and my friend who got me the game as Bonnie. I miss playing payday with him.
WolfRoot
Got my copy in 2017 when 5 million were being given away for free. Little me, who was struggling to save up money, was shocked at the very idea of getting a game I'd dreamed of buying FOR FREE. Nearly a thousand hours were lost to this game afterwards.
A. Keeper
One of my most loved memories was back in 2013 when me and my friends still played on xbox 360, we finished Rats with all bags and didn't defuse any bomb, this game made my best memories in a online game ever.

thanks for everything
Kawaka
The multi-hour quest to complete Birth of Sky in DSOD. We ended up needing to pull in a fourth just so we had more bodies to throw at it. Was one of the last ones we needed to get all of them done, and the success was a serious rush.
Kabutak
I bought the game in 2016, after looking for new FPS games to play, and I fell in love with the gun customisation, the heists, etc. even though I wasn't good at the game.

Eventually, my friends' decision to stop playing the game in 2021 caused me to lose interest for a while,
until one day in 2022 my aunt asked me to teach her how to play, and since that day I've put almost 800 hours into the game.

I can't believe a game I bought almost 7 years ago got this far, and I can't wait to play Payday 3 :) <3

From the demo on the 360 back in 2013, to playing on a crappy laptop in windowed with 600x800 resolution, all the way to today with over 2.5k hours in the game and even giving back to the community with becoming a moderator of the community discord. Payday 2 has been a big part of my life in the best way possible. It's made me laugh, made me cry, gave me something to look forward to in life, and introduced me to some of the most amazing people I have ever met. So, here's to 10 years of payday with hopefully even more to come, keep those helmets flying!
Lac0tr0n
I played PAYDAY 2 on 4 different platforms. This game followed me during my passage from teenagehood to adulthood, and i am happy PAYDAY got to grew up as well and become 10 years old.
momo70U8
Completing all heists on DSODā€¦ solo. It was a journey.
Cade
Back when i was just a 100 hour fella i was doing the white house on very hard with my friend. me and him couldnt do it. but its the fact we kept trying and we still enjoyed it. gotta be some of the most fun ive had on payday 2
BoomerLikeSentinel
I've had such a fantastic decade with my regular crew and nothing can ever surpass the amount of times a judge shotgun has made heist go from professional to comedy. One burning memory is watching someone panic hit a balcony guard on golden grin and having them fly across the entire length of the casino dead into the pit. Thank you payday 2, welcome payday 3
Ben.W
Mentioning the "meth" recipe to a classmate, realizing we both play PAYDAY 2, connecting and becoming close friends, being excited every day after school to go home and play PAYDAY 2 together, pushing through Death Wish to get the mask, when it was still the hardest challenge in the game.

I freaking miss those days :(
Raykon
The goats really did up the anti. Never thought goats would increase the difficulty.
AntonJ
Crazy to think that PAYDAY 2 is 10 years old today. I started out as a fan 10 years ago, then I got hired by Starbreeze 5 years ago. And in just about one month we will be launching our next game in the franchise! āœØ
Elisabeth Elvestad
My Payday memory is making so many friends in this amazing community. So many people are so nice and helpful. Thanks everyone for the good times!
Endy
I'd always get on with my friends and we would have the most unhinged conversations while playing. The game has gotta be one of my all time favorites
RealMW
As quite a few of us, I first started playing because of Badger. His videos introduced me to this game, and I've been hooked ever since. Now, over 3 years and almost 1.000 hours spent in-game later, I'm still playing the game. Part of that is of course the fun gameplay. But the thing that really keep me tied to this game is the community. Yeah, you. My best memories are those playing with randoms for hours, only to maybe never see them again. The conversations we had in the lobby, the loot we scored mid-heist. All will stick with me. You know, we might not be the best community out there - that one goes to Deep Rock Galactic - but we're damn happy being number two. As SBZ says, keep those helmets flying friends. Cya all in Payday 3 <3.
NorthEevee
When Car Shop first came out and I played the heist for the first time, after grabbing the car keys, I thought the cars would become escape points, and the heist would just end there. Then, I got the prompt to unlock and enter the car. I remember my first reaction after getting inside was, "WHAT YOU CAN DRIVE NOW IN THIS GAME???" Thank you for the thousands of hours of fun in Payday 2, and I'm hugely looking forward to Payday 3! Here's to hoping we get to run over bulldozers, so we can watch their silly ragdolls zoom across the floor sometime eventually in Payday 3 lol
CriminalTrout
I remember this one time I was doing Overdrill with a crew and volunteered to do the floor tile code once the vault opened. Unfortunately despite following the diagram in the guide I pressed the wrong tile and failed the attempt...
And the second attempt...
So the third time we had someone else do it, and finally succeeded. Pretty funny story but to this day I refuse to do the tile puzzle if it can be helped...

Iā€™ll never forget believing in John Wick at a time when only payday fans were aware of him, which he was hated by at the time. The film proved me right and Iā€™ll always associate the two franchises.
Venomousbeetle
I remember running through Hotline Miami when it first came out to get all the achievements first, didn't succeed but it was still fun. Here's hoping for more fun heists, colab or not! (Preferably another Hotline Miami one though :))
Trilux
Because of the PAYDAY, I'm working in gamedev and make music for custom heists. So thanks to the PAYDAY team and everyone who I've interacted with in my payday journey. I wish you the best!
h4hppi
I always knew that this game existed but never could play it myself until 3 years ago. Love at first sight. I remember playing Diamond Store on Hard with just AMCAR in my hand and Razormind playing in the background. One of the 4 man COOP game GoATs and hopefully Payday 3 will be just as great if not better than Payday 2
ThisIsSpy
From my first day in PAYDAY The Heist to the final days of PAYDAY 2, the PAYDAY franchise has always been close to my heart.

I consider myself blessed to make the friends I have a long the way bother heisters and developers and I hope to make more as we progress to the 3rd installment.

My favorite PAYDAY moment was back when the Big Bank was being showcased at E3. My friends and I were denied entry as we didn't have passes, as we sat outside pondering how to get in, there we saw two gentlemen with the Overkill bomb on their blazer jackets. It was Ilija and his brother! After an energetic exchange they found out what had happened and snuck us into E3 to enjoy the new map and meet the Overkill crew.

They had given us special access to the booth and we enjoyed the whole experience in its entirety.

Thank you Overkill and Starbreeze for all the love over the years! Here's to another decade of larceny and mass murder!
VyseM4H
I think my first encounter with Payday was the infamous "Giant Toothbrush" video from back in the day and seeing how the devs went back and made it even bigger hahaha!
I'd just bought a gaming pc a few months before payday 2 was released so it was the first game I ever pre-ordered on steam and I must say it was worth it, from harvest and trustee's to the white house, helmets have flown and will continue to in Payday 3
Reece
Playing payday 2 beta for the first time. Old skill trees, no perkdecks, max level 40. Got a really heavy nostalgia for my time in payday 2 beta after playing the payday 3 beta.
Monni
I remember very vividly one time I was playing Framing Frame and... I met a group that I just got along with so well, coming up with our own codenames as we swindled away the gold from the Senator... It felt so good and solidified PAYDAY 2 as one of my favourite games of all time.
Jacob Brown
I remember having discovered payday2 on a demo of PS3 then after I bought it and I never left it I made the PS3/PS4/PS5 versions.. Time flies so fast

Payday 2 carried me over my depression in lockdown.I've met so many cool people over there that helped me to stay positive and keep going ;-)
SwagAndHorses
The amount of suffering i endured playing DSOD Loud is huge! But I'm still loving the game! Would recommend the experience to the whole family!
Basically Zero
I played it first time in 2015 and it changed my life, the game fulfill all my fantasies of doing the ultimate heist and being a notorious criminal badass from watching a lot of crime and heist movies like Heat, PAYDAY will always have a special place in my heart, there's no other franchise that I love more than PAYDAY
StingRay
I haven't played payday 2 as much as everyone else as of now I only have 272 hours in payday 2 but my payday memory is finding an amazing community of really nice people alongside amazing developers who are passionate about there game and I've even met some of my best friends on payday 2 I'm looking forward for 3 happy anniversary payday 2
Slimeking1214
I met my girlfriend through this game, I was hosting a heat street on Mayhem and she joined and we ended up talking a lot after. Pretty cool game if you ask me :)
HotGamerWife
The first time i played it was around 2018 on an xbox 360.
I was pretty alone at home, so this game was a lot of company for me. Thank you for everything!
MarcusOloski
I met my best friend through Payday 2, and the fact that the series has somehow lasted an entire decade through a history of ups and downs is nigh miraculous.

Over one-thousand and seven-hundred hours of heisting and achievement hunting later, and it has remained a mainstay in my gaming library as the best way to experiencing blasting away cops and vault doors with friends!
Robospike
The best memories from this game is from heisting with my brother and finding new cool guns.
Dark4X
I remember the payday 2 demo on steam which is now gone I think and I was instantly hooked!
Iā€™ve met a lot of nice people on there which I didnā€™t have in a lot of games. Iā€™ve played so many hours in the bank heist in the demo. Now continuing playing on the full realise been a blast ever since!

Dying because there's no medic bag
Springgy
I remember back in August of 2013 I saw my brother playing PAYDAY 2 with his friends, I promptly went and bought the game for my 360. Just before Crimefest of 2014 I had a PC built specifically to play PAYDAY 2 on PC because of the content draught on Console.

I met most of my friends on PAYDAY 2 few I still speak to and play PAYDAY 2 and other games with today. I remember joining a Transport: Downtown around 2016, where the host was testing out a mod which made heisters randomly speak from certain events, such as: the possibility to yell "Stay Down!" when killing a cop.

With countless !!!Access Violations!!! Later, the mod works and we still heist together to this date.

Honorable Mention - I met his friend about a year later on Hoxton's Revenge, It was his first time playing the game. From what I've been told, I complained about the heist being on Hard and not Overkill at the least. I also got told that I was laughing at him for using an Amcar at level 80+. We all laugh about it now though... Or are they laughing at me? ._.

I remember back when I lost my mind at Shadow Raid at the Hardest difficulty.
Also spending hours crafting builds for Infamy before 3.0 came out. Lots of procrastinating.

Trying to figure out how four heisters fit inside a delorean stuffed to the briim with meth and guns.
Aquamelon
I've played Payday 2 since 2016 and i loved it. Met some friends playing it and my wallet hated every new dlc. Had to buy, there was no choice. I did 100% in it and i loved most of it. Grinding for robbedacop was a nightmare. The game one of the kind!
GlitchedGuest
I remember getting into Payday during a free weekend and have been a fan since
Rowan H
I started Payday 2 with the beta back in July 2013. Bought the game on launch and couldn't put it down. I did my degree for the next three years and spent far too much time heisting than studying. Taking part in community events, befriending other players, and eagerly awaiting every new update really hit the core of what the Payday experience is about, and I'll always be so fond of this game.
Olly Smith
After 1500+ hours, I can say with certainty my best (and recurring) memory of Payday 2 is using the wrong meth ingredient.

The years spent attempting the apartment heist, I swear I still cannot find that phone

I've had problems in my adolescence and thanks to PAYDAY 2... I found a place that is welcoming and well received. Also PAYDAY 2 made me something known on the internet and I really... I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!

After modding the game for over half a decade I've really grown to love the engine it's built on. I think it gets a bad wrap, and I'm sad to see it go, but sometimes we have to move forward. Considering how well it's lasted, we should all raise a glass to 22 years of Diesel!
