Jacket appeared at the Gang's hideout without warning or explanation. While he didn’t bother to say where he had been, a sharp observer could follow a trail of brutalized bodies leading up the East Coast, ending in New York City.

New OVERSKILL System

We briefly went through a blog and a Dev Diary on this fancy new feature.

To summarize it as much as possible, each OVERKILL weapon is getting a skill line, and two new alternatives to OVERKILL weapons, called OVERSKILLS are being added.

Features

Intel XeSS 2.0.2 Support

Added support for XeSS 2.0.2, Intel’s AI-powered upscaling technology, for improved performance and image quality. Enjoy sharper visuals and smoother gameplay!

Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue where the player was not able to use armor repair kits if the first aid kits were present in the player's inventory
  • Adjusted fall damage to scale less aggressively. The minimum height for fall damage is the same, but now it scales more evenly up to 11m, beyond which it will be lethal
  • The M135 Arges Minigun now has some additional movement speed penalties, depending on if the player is walking with the weapon in idle, if the barrel is spinning, and if the weapon is being fired. Actively using the weapon in either way now has a stronger impact on movement speed

Art

  • Fixed an issue where the sticker on A114 would disappear after equipping any vertical grip
  • Corrected some first person arm skinning while using the Teddy Moo outfit
  • Fixed an issue where the Tribune 32 magazine wasn't removed during reload animations

Audio

  • The Operator VO now has its own volume setting slider, seperate from other VO
  • Tweaked sound environments to smoothen transitions between different areas
  • Fixed an issue where in rare occasions, Shade would no longer say anything for the rest of a heist
  • Fixed an issue where the shouting VO would not trigger in Solo Mode, when only shouting at a single civilian
  • Fixed an issue where VOIP session remained while returning to the main menu
  • Fixed an issue where melee misses were inaudible in third person
  • Pressing LB/RB or L1/R1 while in a Solo Mode tab will no longer play sound effects since the controller buttons are inactive
  • Water SFX is no longer misplaced near the hot dog stand

UI

  • Fixed an issue where a social screen default infamy/renown level was visible on friends currently starting the game
  • The helper text explaining how the pause menu works no longer overlaps with other UI elements, such as adding new friends
  • A network loading progress bar has been added to the screen prior to reaching the main menu
  • Fixed an issue where the colorblindness symbols could get stuck on screen outside the options menu
  • Opening the social menu while customizing a gun will no longer make the gun disappear and won't change the background
  • Fixed an issue where opening the Crimenet server browser during matchmaking resulted in canceling matchmaking
  • Infamy and renown values are now replicated correctly on players' cards on the result screen
  • The required experience value to Research a Skill is no longer presented as X/0 on the result screen, if more than the required amount of experience is gained
  • Added a popup when a player is kicked from a party in the main menu
  • Fixed VOIP icons overlapping the Social Icon and the VoIP Overlay no longer shows people who leave the result screen
  • The skill description text no longer starts scrolling from the beginning when hovering over different skills in the same skill line
  • Scrolling through the friends list is now functioning properly while using a controller

Technical Changes

  • Failed heists in Solo Mode can now be restarted from the result screen just like during online heists
  • Added descriptions to the different graphics settings in the options menu
  • Fixed so party member mannequins appear while joining a party during matchmaking
  • "Invite only" and "Friends only" sessions are not joinable through each respective platform's native overlay any more
  • Cancelling matchmaking while inside Crimenet will no longer move the player all the way back to the main menu
  • Fixed an issue where the game UI could get stuck when canceling quickplay while joining a lobby
  • Fixed an issue where breached door handles would still have collision, blocking incoming shots
  • Added blood effects when using throwing knives (i.e. bodies and wall sprays)
  • Fixed a rare crash that could happen if Unreal garbage collected a throwing knife just as players entered custody
  • Falling tools can no longer get stuck on the player character, for instance; place a tool on a window and shoot the glass while standing very close to it so the tool falls down on you
  • Heister portraits should now be less blurry, on for example the result screen
  • Fixed an issue where daily challenges could not be completed by buffs from skills
  • Ragdolls should now sync more properly between server and client, where before interactions with a desynced ragdoll could lead to a client disconnect. For instance; the body had fallen over an edge on the server, but not for the player and the player then tried to pick up the body
  • Fixed the visual bug introduced last patch where weapon levels would appear to be stuck at level 1 even though they were something else
  • Previously affected PS5 users should no longer have a broken inventory system where for example weapons could revert to the default loadout out of nowhere
  • Destroying a Mask Of The Week mask also destroys its inventory slot now
  • Heist-locked characters cannot be used in either Online or Solo Mode any more. For instance; Houston was only locked out of Houston Breakout if the heist was played online
  • Fixed the Crowd Control achievement not triggering in Solo Mode
  • The total payout for completing a heist now properly shows your actual takeaway, by applying penalties more clearly, such as having killed civilians or leaving players in custody
  • AI trying to sabotage something can now more easily be interrupted via staggering, rather than them still completing the started sabotage, even though they are considered staggered
  • Improved Depth of Field gun visibility so weapons no longer appear blurred when not in ADS, and updated some sights shared between pistols and SMGs to have improved DoF

Heists

Multiple Heists

  • Loot bags should no longer get stuck inside the escape van if the player tries to secure them just as the van doors close
  • Armored glass doors on Diamond District, No Rest For The Wicked, and Rock The Cradle can now be shot through and AI can see through them

Under the Surphaze

  • Fixed inconsistent projectile collisions near the stealth escape area
  • Fixed an issue with cops would not spawn at all if players were standing on the balcony staircases

Gold & Sharke

  • Fixed an issue where the bank manager computer couldn't be hacked again after blue keycard time expiration

Rock the Cradle

  • Added props to the cop spawn rooms inside the nightclub in order to hide cops from spawning in players' view
  • Changed guard pathing in search mode so that guards don't path in unrealistic ways, in the basement
  • Fixed an issue where the bouncer could get stuck on the way to the DJ booth when investigating the music, if they cuffed the player along the way

No Rest for the Wicked

  • The 'Steal and Secure' money objective is no longer temporarily duplicated in the UI
  • Fixed a soft-lock where objectives would get stuck, if all managers were somehow killed. Now the heist will switch over to requiring thermite in order to proceed, making the heist go loud
  • Fixed an issue where the color switch display showed two states at the same time for drop-in players
  • The player can no longer get stuck on top of the upstairs hallway sofa

99 Boxes

  • Fixed a difficult interaction on a lure inside the warehouse
  • Fixed an issue that allowed AI to fall through collision and become stuck by the loot secure truck

Road Rage

  • Fixed an issue where players could get trapped by the armored transport vehicle in various spots

Boys in Blue

  • The Mechanic Bribe favor is now functional in Solo Mode
  • Garage door audio portals now behave as intended, affecting audio differently when open and closed (audio was inverted before)

Houston Breakout

  • Fixed an issue where killing both guards in the basement holding area could cause a blocker
  • Overkill weapon deliveries should now land more reliably inside the rotunda
  • Fixed an issue where the player could walk through the elevator door outside the court room
  • Fixed an issue that caused Shade stealth VO to be played during loud gameplay when incorrectly interacting with the fuse box at the beginning of the heist

Fear & Greed

  • Players are no longer able to throw the zipline bag under the rooftop ventilation units
  • Updated some collisions between a server rack and a pillar on the upper floor to minimize the risk of players gliding off the edge to their death
  • Cops no longer clip through pillars on the trading floor
  • Fixed a collision issue that impeded player navigation at the sloped roof section towards the escape zone
  • Fixed the issue where the security room would get locked when going loud, if it had been unlocked previously
  • Fixed the animation when opening circuit breakers so it no longer clips
  • Killing civilians is no longer free and will result in a monetary loss

First World Bank

  • Bags can no longer be soft-locked inside of money carts
  • Updated the AI navigation so cops no longer rush through the vault door during its opening animation
  • Thermal Lance bags can no longer be used on the wrong gate
  • The visitor pass is now an inventory item with an icon, and relevant VO plays when picking it up
  • Prevent a stealth soft-lock that could occur if players quickly entered and exited the matrix room sluice on their way to the garage
  • Some laser patterns and timings have been modified to be more easily to traversed
  • Added "secure additional loot" as an optional objective
  • Fixed a missing collision that allowed the player to step inside an exterior wall near the left-side office area windows
  • Fix for AI navigation in rooms above the vault
  • Prevented dust particles from the escape helicopter from clipping through the roof
  • The color switches and panels for the metal detectors can no longer be interacted with once the heist has gone loud
  • Fixed an issue where if the player went loud after picking up USB, new USB would spawn on the Inside Man's desk
  • The helicopter no longer drops thermite bags if the 'Elevator Equipment Drop' favor is active
  • The elevator hatch from the 'Elevator Equipment Drop' favor displays the correct visuals after opening it.
  • The permanently locked QR code door above the vault is now fixed
  • Fixed an issue that caused a large gap between a door and its frame
  • Fixed an issue where windows in the second office area were missing sound effects of being shattered when shot or melee'd.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Inside Man' VIP Pass favor didn't work on initial spawn of the level in ONLINE mode; only working after a heist reset
