PAYDAY 3: Blog Update #37 – Leaderboards, FWB Secret & More
A few things to go through in this week’s blog!
First off, how are you heisters? We rarely get these chances to just sit and talk, tell us about your day. Just kidding, I’m just a corpo blog man, I don’t have human emotions. I suppose that kinda gives credence to the constant accusation of me being an AI, those are kinda hurtful btw, ouch heisters, ouch.
What was I doing… oh, blog. First up, leaderboards!
Leaderboards
For starters, PAYDAY 3 is getting leaderboards! There are two boards, one tracking kills, the other tracking secured bags.
We wanted to give players a chance to measure up to their counterparts, and thought this was a good start. It gives the competitive minded heisters in our community a goal to strive towards.
The boards will live on a dedicated website that resets every week, so there’ll be 52 chances to rise to the top of the heisting world, and get the credit that such an accomplishment deserves, naturally. We hope to iterate on the leaderboards, so let us know what you’d like to see in the future!
You’ll be able to see the top ten players in addition to your own ranking. To participate, you need to choose to opt-in to leaderboards. You can sort that out by logging in to our website using your Nebula-ID.
If everything goes to plan, you can see leaderboards on December 10th!
Managing Secret/OVERDRILL Expectations
We realize we haven’t explained this very well, and want to clear the air so the launch of First World Bank next week isn’t marred by faulty expectations.
We’ll do a bullet-list, good old bullet-list, never fails.
- The terms secret and OVERDRILL are often used interchangeably, in terms of First World Bank, they’re the same thing
- There will be no secret/OVERDRILL at the launch of First World Bank, instead, it’s coming “later”
- The secret coming will not be OVERDRILL, we’re trying something new since most players only did OVERDRILL once, and we don’t want to spend time and resources making something that isn’t played
Update 1.4.3
The update that never happened. We had a lot of issues with this update which made us delay it, and eventually bake it in with the larger update. On the upside, most of the issues are now fixed completely.
Armor 2.0
While we’re clearing stuff up, when we first announced Armor 2.0 we mentioned aiming for a December release. It’s going well, but we’re not quite ready to release in December, and we’re looking at a spring 2025 release window instead. It is looking darn good though.
And that about does it! We hope you give the leaderboards a try, let us know how you’d like to see them evolve. And we hope we set the record straight regarding secret/OVERDRILL in First World Bank.
